Plumeria, also known as "Lei Flower", is a dry large shrub or small tree up to 8 m tall in natural conditions; in our climate it grows up to 2 m tall, with thick branches and large, elongated leaves. Flowers are very large, up to 6 cm in diameter, strongly fragrant, ranging in color from red through shades of pink, orange, yellow to white. The flower has a spiral structure (petals overlap forming a spiral), and the plant blooms almost all year round.

Plumeria Rubra originates from Mexico and Central America but is widely cultivated in the tropics and warm temperate climates. It is one of the most sought-after flowering shrubs or trees worldwide; there are hundreds of cultivated varieties, which unfortunately do not come from seeds but from cuttings or grafts.

Plumeria in our climate is suitable for indoor cultivation from early summer to autumn; plants can be placed outdoors in the garden, on the terrace or balcony. It requires a sunny and wind-free location, moderate watering, and fertile soil.

❤️‍ Sowing and cultivation:

Sow seeds year-round; before sowing, place seeds in a moist cloth for about 24 hours (make sure the cloth does not dry out). Then sow seeds vertically (thicker part down) into well-watered soil with drainage at a depth of about 0.5 cm; the upper part of the seed - the wing - should protrude from the soil. Water the sowing and cover with a breathable material, e.g., agrotextile or cloth, and place in a warm, bright spot. After seeds germinate and the first leaves appear, you can start misting the plants with a spray bottle.
