Wi-Fi connectivity makes both installation and irrigation system management faster, easier, and more convenient. But what can contractors do if the Internet connection at a location is poor or unavailable? To solve this, the WAND module for X2 controllers now includes new software enabling Bluetooth® pairing, allowing seamless Wi-Fi network setup within minutes. In online mode, contractors can use these easy-to-master features to quickly perform tasks on site:

• Using the Hydrawise® app, you can connect to the system by completing six simple steps, reducing internet setup time by 70%.
• Bluetooth connectivity allows using a smartphone as a handheld remote when Wi-Fi is unavailable or access to the controller is restricted — ideal if the controller is located in a garage or behind a locked gate.
• Rapid Programming™ technology enables sending a pre-configured Hydrawise irrigation schedule to any X2 controller via the WAND module within seconds. Even if the WAND module is removed, the X2 controller remains fully programmed — no need to use dials, buttons, or set date and time.
• New X2 controller configuration options provide more convenient and cost-effective site management for routine installations

The WAND module is designed to work with any X2 series controller. Contractors who add the WAND module to their controller gain access to advanced water-saving features managed via the industry-leading wireless Hydrawise irrigation management platform. All existing WAND users can unlock these new features through an automatic software update today. Newly manufactured WAND modules (with production dates from August 2021 onward) will include these features ready to use right out of the box.
