Material tested by PIMOT — Automotive Industry Institute
K6s Bitmat soundproofing mat - rubber insulating foam with closed-cell structure and a layer of premium strong adhesive, offering excellent acoustic and thermal insulation properties.
The material does not absorb moisture, is resistant to chemicals, creates an acoustic barrier, effectively absorbs noise, and provides thermal insulation.
High damping foam designed for use in a wide temperature range from -50 to +85°C
Does not shrink or oxidize.
Proper density and cell structure ensure a broad spectrum of dampened frequencies, and the material maintains its damping properties at both low and high temperatures.
What distinguishes our foams?
- Equipped with premium strong adhesive on a technical mesh, so the glue does not dry out and withstands higher temperatures longer.
- Manufactured in the EU with all necessary certifications including CE.
- Foam composition optimized after years of testing for maximum soundproofing effectiveness.
- Only our foams carry the Bitmat brand.
- Tested by PIMOT for noise insulation.
The product has a hygiene certificate and certification issued by PIMOT.
Advantages of soundproofing foams:
- High sound insulation
- High thermal insulation
- High resistance to external factors, salt, alkalis, oils, and some acids
- Easy installation with strong adhesive
- High density ensures a wide range of dampened frequencies
- Does not oxidize or emit harmful substances
- Contains additives to reduce flammability
- Foamed rubber structure also provides excellent insulation
Applications:
- Construction: ventilation ducts, building insulation, wall and ceiling soundproofing.
- Automotive: car soundproofing, car audio, thermal insulation, boats, airplanes.
- Industry: soundproofing machines, compressors, generators.
Can be used in moist environments (does not absorb water) and offers excellent acoustic and insulation properties.
First, apply a butyl mat AB-2 (2 mm) or AB-25 (2.5 mm) to the metal surface, matching the shape of the panel. Butyl mats absorb vibrations and create a noise barrier. The second layer is the K6s Bitmat foam — rubber soundproofing foam with strong adhesive that insulates and absorbs noise.
Example quantities of butyl mats and rubber foams needed to soundproof a car *:
- Front door pair: 2 m2 butyl mat and 1 m2 6mm rubber foam
- Rear door pair: 1.5 m2 butyl mat and 1 m2 6mm rubber foam
- Trunk with wheel arches: 3 m2 butyl mat and 3 m2 6mm rubber foam
- Floor with engine bulkhead: 3.5 m2 butyl mat and 3.5 m2 6mm rubber foam
- Roof: 2 m2 butyl mat and 2 m2 6mm rubber foam
* Quantities may vary depending on the vehicle.
How to soundproof a car?
First, apply the butyl mat to every metal part, shaping it to the panel. The second layer is waterproof rubber foam.
Why multiple layers?
The butyl mat stiffens the body, creates a noise barrier, eliminates resonance, rattling, and buzzing. K6s foam insulates against noise.
* Photos show examples of mat application.
Installation:
- Clean and degrease the surface
- Cut the mat to the required size
- Remove the adhesive protective foil and press onto the surface to be soundproofed. The butyl mat should be applied before the foam.
No heating required during installation. Temperature range from -50 to +85°C.
