Description
FEED MATERIAL
Narrow-leaved sweet lupin is a annual legume plant from the Fabaceae family, valued primarily for seeds with high protein content and reduced alkaloid levels compared to bitter varieties. It can be used as a component of properly balanced feed mixtures intended for selected species of farm animals.
Lupin is also a valuable crop in farming. Thanks to symbiosis with root nodule bacteria, it participates in biological nitrogen fixation, and its well-developed root system enables the utilization of water and nutrients from the soil profile.
Plant residues left after cultivation provide a source of organic matter, making lupin a valuable element in crop rotation and beneficially influencing soil properties and structure.
During flowering, lupin produces distinctive flowers that are visited by bees and other pollinating insects, providing them with an additional source of forage.
