Description
Wellhead size 125/32 stainless steel 316, A4
Pass-through wellhead for a 125 mm well pipe to a 32 mm submersible pump discharge hose.
The wellhead is a key component of the well system designed to protect the water intake. It provides a hermetic seal, minimizing the risk of water contamination in the well from external factors such as atmospheric debris, groundwater, soil contaminants, and small animals. All these factors can degrade water quality and negatively affect the operation of the deep well. Our wellhead eliminates these risks.
Wellhead made of stainless steel 1.4404 (316) – a worthwhile investment.
Looking for a wellhead that will last many years under harsh underground conditions? Choosing a model made of stainless steel 1.4404 means gaining not only quality but peace of mind for years. Although cheaper alternatives made of steel 1.4301 (304) are available on the market, it is worth paying extra for a wellhead made of acid-resistant stainless steel. Acid resistance of steel 1.4404 is crucial in underground environments – especially for applications such as deep wells, pipe casings, or water installation components. Here's why:
Why acid resistance of steel 1.4404 matters underground?
1. Presence of aggressive chemical compounds in soil
- Soils and groundwater often contain humic, sulfuric, nitric acids, and organic compounds (from decomposing plants or fertilizers).
- Acidic fermentation products can form in anaerobic conditions.
- Steel 1.4301 (304) does not perform well in contact with such substances – it can quickly develop pitting or crevice corrosion.
➡ Steel 1.4404, thanks to its molybdenum (Mo) content, shows much better resistance to acids and acidic environments, preventing rapid degradation or perforation.
2. Variability and chemical aggressiveness of groundwater
- Groundwater is not chemically neutral – it can have low pH (acidic), contain chlorides, sulfates, iron ions, and other elements that accelerate corrosion.
- In some regions, groundwater pH drops to 5–6, which causes rapid surface damage to ordinary stainless steel (1.4301).
➡ 1.4404 is a "acid-resistant" steel grade that maintains its properties even in low pH water and in the presence of mineral salts.
3. Protection of installations and water quality
- Wellheads, casings, and well pipes are constantly submerged or damp – their surfaces are exposed to slow but continuous chemical action from the environment.
➡ Due to its acid resistance, steel 1.4404 preserves material integrity for many years, resulting in:
- no risk of perforation and
- greater operational safety.
Acid resistance of steel 1.4404 is not just a technical parameter – it is real protection against the destructive effects of the underground environment. Where other steels fail, 1.4404 ensures reliability, durability, and installation purity.
If your installation operates in soil or water – choosing steel 1.4404 guarantees peace of mind for many years.
Specifications:
✅ Material: Highest quality stainless steel 1.4404 / 316.
✅ Seal: SBR.
✅ A2 screws, safety cable eyelet: stainless steel A4 (316).
✅ Cable gland for 6-12 mm diameter cable.
✅ Technical plug.
✅ Thread connection protectors: plastic.
✅ Max suspended load: 180 kg
✔️ Choose additional protective caps for nuts in our store – they provide extra protection for threaded connections. Protecting threaded connections is especially important against solid contaminants inside the well casing. Hex nuts reduce issues related to screw head damage or the need to clean Allen screw sockets during wellhead servicing.
✔️ The gasket used in this wellhead is designed to perfectly fit both the well pipe and the submersible pump discharge hose, ensuring a hermetic seal. Thanks to the proper sealing parameters, the wellhead is securely seated on the pipe – the gasket does not push the wellhead off the pipe when tightening screws.
✔️ The wellhead includes a cable gland for submersible pump cables with a diameter of 6-12 mm. Our glands are equipped with a cable seal, and the seal under the gland securely protects the threaded connection.
✔️ The additional technical plug features an integrated tight sealing lip. The plug design prevents contaminants from entering. The plug can be unscrewed using a screwdriver, socket wrench, or by hand.
The plug provides access to the deep well without removing the wellhead.
Installation information:
This wellhead fits a well pipe with an outer diameter of 125 mm marked PN 10.
WE ALSO OFFER WELLHEADS FOR THICKER WALLS (PN 12.5, PN 16).
Preparing the installation site:
✅ Ensure the wellhead installation site is properly prepared:
✔️ Install the wellhead on the pipe barrel – not on the socket. The well pipe socket must be cut cleanly and evenly.
✔️ Clean the well pipe from any debris and residues to ensure proper seating of the wellhead.
Wellhead dimensions:
ØD1 - 125 mm – diameter matching the outer diameter of the well pipe.
ØD2 - 114 mm – diameter of the seal designed for installation inside the pipe with diameter D1.
H - 32 mm
⚠️ IMPORTANT – Wellhead compatibility with pipes
✅ Our wellhead is designed to work with blue well pipes compliant with PN-G-02323 standard, used in professional deep wells. These pipes have appropriate wall thickness and high pressure resistance – ideal for such installations.
❌ The wellhead is not intended for installation on sewer pipes (e.g., orange, thin-walled) that do not meet technical requirements for deep wells.
