The Strawberry Tree (Arbutus unedo), also known as the Strawberry Tree, is an extraordinary shrub (small tree) characterized by beautiful evergreen, slightly glossy leathery leaves and fragrant flower clusters resembling Lily of the Valley flowers. However, the most remarkable feature is its beautiful, unique, fairy-tale fruits resembling wild strawberries or garden strawberries. They are very tasty and rich in vitamins.

The Strawberry Tree during the fruiting period (about 3 months) is covered with clusters of fruits, which looks extremely impressive. The plant originates from Mediterranean regions where the climate is similar to Poland's. In southern Poland, it can be grown outdoors without cover. Only in cold regions where winter temperatures drop below –15°C is covering necessary. In case of very harsh winters, covering is required in both cases; otherwise, the tree may freeze down to the snow line and regrow in spring.

The Strawberry Tree in our climate grows up to a maximum height of 3 meters. The Strawberry Tree is simply an extraordinary plant in every way, perfect as a solitary plant (i.e., planted individually), for group plantings, or as a backdrop for other plants. It is also suitable for making miniature Bonsai trees. It grows excellently both in the garden, on the terrace, and indoors! The Strawberry Tree in our climate is frost-resistant and tolerates temperature drops down to –15°C.
