HERE ARE OUR TIPS TO MAKE YOUR LAWN BEAUTIFUL

To establish a lawn, start by preparing the soil, i.e.:

• remove the old lawn mechanically or chemically
• fertilize with compost or deacidified peat
• it is also recommended to improve soil pH by applying lime
• dig over the sowing area manually or mechanically to a depth of 15-30cm,

Next, level the area and compact it by rolling the soil

After these steps, it is best to wait about two weeks for potential weed germination. If weed growth is abundant, it is recommended to apply a herbicide spray to reduce weed presence in the future lawn.

✳️After soil preparation, you can proceed to sow the grass✳️

The best sowing period is from early April to the end of September. The sowing rate is 1kg of seed per 40m². The sowing period can be longer than recommended. Just remember that sowing and germination should not occur at temperatures near or below 0 degrees Celsius.

Sowing method: Before final sowing, loosen the soil with a rake, preferably creating furrows to sow the seeds in. Sowing should be done manually (cross sowing technique*) or with a seed drill.

*CROSS SOWING TECHNIQUE: First sow seeds in one direction, then perpendicular. This ensures even germination.

After sowing, rake the area again and roll it. Sowing is recommended on moist soil.

✳️After sowing, the next step is lawn care✳️

Until germination, i.e. about 3 weeks, the soil should be frequently misted and watered during dry periods. Afterwards, keep the soil moist throughout the growth phase, about 6 weeks.

✳️When to mow for the first time?✳️

The first mowing should be done when the grass reaches 8-10cm in height. Cut it back to 5 cm. Subsequent mowings should be done when grass is 6-8 cm tall, cutting it to 3-4 cm. The best visual results come from frequent mowing. During periods of rapid growth, apply lawn fertilizers according to the fertilizer packaging instructions.
